So often we hear that it’s not the circumstances of our life, but our reaction to the circumstances that dictate the quality of our experience.
Even though I’ve been hearing this for a long time, it’s only recently that I am starting to really believe it and try to apply it in my life. The conditioned responses to events runs so deep that it can sometimes be hard to believe it possible to choose a different reaction/reality. The number one key for me is to become aware of the self-talk and beliefs that are underlying my reactions. Once the awareness is there we are free to release the beliefs.
The most difficult one for me is feeling comfortable and connected with others. I would often instinctively tense up when speaking to people (due to past trauma). Recently I have started to relax more. There is still plenty of relaxing to do, and I am looking forward to getting deeper into it. 📸 @homebythestation
