we constantly search for acceptance and validation in a world that seems so determined to break us. we place our worth in the hands of people we don’t even know and try to conform to who we believe society expects us to be. we create this whole idea in our heads and paint a perfect picture of a life of pure, genuine, infinite happiness. but the thing is, that perfect picture doesn’t exist. happiness finds us in the most purest, rawest, vulnerable moments of our lives and we so desperately cling to those moments because they exhilarate us and make us feel the most alive. because happiness never stays. it isn’t some sort of achievable quest that we all so longingly search for in this thing called life. it finds us, but it also leaves us. it leaves to help us grow, to unmask the feelings we are holding deep down, to accept its absence and to learn that it just didn’t fit into certain areas and aspects of our lives. it leaves for us to face our struggles, our fears, our insecurities, our SELVES.
but then, it always withers its way back. and by the time it does, we have flourished. we have prospered. we have learned that we are so much stronger, valuable and worthy. when it comes back we are reminded that the validation we longed for from other people, was always right there. within US. we are reminded that we were made to survive.
