What's your relationship with solitude, aloneness, and time to yourself?
How do you spend that time in a way that nourishes you?
A decade ago, I really struggled with being alone, even though I lived alone from age 19-32, that first bit wasn't happy alone-ness, it was shadowed by loneliness, depression, and emptiness.
When I first started my self-love journey I was all about being alone. Suddenly it was something that brought light into my life and it had everything to do with my mindset and how I spent that time. Instead of blanketing myself with video games and food I did things like reading in the park or sitting there with my journal. I had a weekly ritual where early in the morning I'd walk to my favorite coffee/donut place and just ... be. Enjoy my own company and my own thoughts. Yoga in the backyard. Long baths with a book (I've still never dropped one!). You can fill your alone time with loneliness or you can let it nourish you. (P.S. Not to say that loneliness is bad! It's a very valid feeling and you're allowed to want company, but it's still important to enjoy yourself too!) #selfcarereminder #selfcarematters #selfcareideas #selfcarememe #loneliness #alonetime #solitude #timebymyself
